What is Slabjacking?

Slabjacking, also called mudjacking or mudlifting, is a fast, cost-effective, environmentally-friendly process that will address many commercial, residential, or municipal concrete issues, often at less than half the cost of replacement.

A series of small holes are drilled into the slab through which cement mix is pumped under pressure. The mixture displaces air pockets, water, and water-saturated materials, raises the slab, and leaves a firm, permanent sub grade. When the slab has reached its proper grade, the holes are patched with high strength, quick-setting cement.

The entire process is usually completed in just a few hours, allowing the concrete to be back in use almost immediately.

How does Slabjacking work?

Concrete settles for a variety of reasons. Over time the sub-base simply fails under the weight of the new slab and therefore settles. Slabjacking is the proven answer. A series of small holes are drilled in the slab through which a grout and cement mix is pumped . The grout under pressure depresses and helps stabilize the sub soil, fills the void and thus raises the slab to its proper grade. After the slab is lifted the holes are filled and patched with new cement.

We are able to lift and level almost any poured concrete structure, including walkways, steps, garages, pool decks, basements, warehouses, both indoors and outdoors. In almost all cases, we are able to lift or level the concrete and move it back into position so that it is no longer unsightly, a liability, or a cause of water drainage issues.

If, for any reason, slabjacking is not a feasible choice, Level Line offers a full range of replacement options as well, including new concrete, grinding and resurfacing of concrete with solutions such as patterned concrete and jewel stone, cutting and/or resizing areas of poured concrete, installation of interlocking brick, flagstone or other natural stone surfaces.

What is Polyurethane concrete lifting?

An alternative to Slabjacking is using is a chemical, expanding foam product called polyurethane (often called Polyfill, Polylift or Polyjacking) to raise concrete. At Level Line we use Portland cement-based grout and do not use these chemical, foam alternatives.
